Our Mission

A community partnership dedicated to academic and personal success for every student.

Our Vision

Eastwood is a safe, caring, and nurturing school, where students, families, staff, and community members actively participate in the learning process. We are a part of a greater community involved in meeting the varied intellectual, cultural, and social needs of our children so that they may become independent, responsible, and productive citizens. We will utilize the natural resources at the center of our campus and curriculum to enable all of our students to become academically proficient. Our students will leave Eastwood empowered with leadership abilities, integrity, and compassion.

Our history

Eastwood Elementary School opened its doors in September, 1957 on 44 acres of farm land that in the late 1800s was the site of the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The school is located in the city of Roseburg, the seat of Douglas County. There are approximately 435 students from kindergarten through fifth grade in 18 classes. Classes for music, PE, special programs, counseling, and library/media provide additional support for Eastwood students. The site has wetlands, nature trails, a salmon hatchery, outdoor classrooms, and a replica Native American dwelling. Eastwood's traditions in excellence are well known throughout the community.
