Child Development

Child Development Specialist (CDS) is a class once a week that students attend at Eastwood just like Library or PE. CDS focuses on teaching students about growth mindset, emotions, problem solving, kindness, and empathy. We focus a lot on recognizing feelings and practicing ways to regulate and cope through difficult situations. The goal is to develop skills that help children socially and emotionally thrive and make meaningful connections in school and at home. This website intends to provide materials and insight into what CDS is focusing on so staff and parents can be aware of what is being taught and what to reinforce at home or other areas at school. The resources provided will also contain some helpful tips to practice at home and in the classroom.
