See a day in the life of a kindergartner at Eastwood.
Meet our kindergarten teachers!
A Southern California transplant, I moved to Roseburg right after high school with my parents and 5 siblings. After meeting my husband shortly after, it was clear this would be my home. My husband and I have been married for 17 years and have 3 amazing kiddos. Brady, my oldest, will be starting middle school this year and Lucas and Hannah attend Eastwood. In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, crafting, and of course attending my kiddos activities. This will be my 18th year in education and I cannot express enough my excitement for teaching Kindergarten. I absolutely LOVE this age! The curiosity and excitement for learning from 5 year olds completely blows my mind. I cannot wait for a new group of eager Kinders. and know this will be such a wonderful year!
I am a Douglas County native raised in Sutherlin. My husband and I will celebrate seven years of marriage in August. We are excited to be welcoming a baby girl into the world this summer! When not at school I enjoy singing, playing my instruments, and going for family walks with our yellow lab, Rose. Snuggling with my baby girl will soon become a favorite pastime as well! This will be my fourth year in Room 4, which I consider my home away from home. Working with young learners brings me great joy. Kindergarten is a wonderful year of growth, and I look forward to sharing the joy of learning with your children!
My husband and I will be celebrating our 33rd anniversary this summer. We have two grown children. Our son, Grant is a chemical engineer in Portland. Our daughter, Lindsay and her husband Tyler live in Eugene. She is a District Manager for a beverage company and he is a firefighter training to be a fire/medic. We round off our family with a chocolate lab and a cat. When I'm not at work I enjoy reading and watching movies. This will be my 8th year of teaching Kindergarten at Eastwood and my 23rd year of teaching. As a teacher, my focus is to INSPIRE and EQUIP students for the many years of learning they have ahead of them. Laying that "foundation" in reading, writing and math are my daily goals for each of my students. Making school a fun place to be is also an important goal of mine. Kindergarten is a fabulous year because of all of the student growth that takes place.
